Vague information publicized in the media have stirred the minds of the nation. Most electronic cigarette users feel conflicted between continued use and returning to traditional cigarettes.. Fast forward to date both the FDA and CDC have linked Vitamin E Acetate to a majority of the cases reported. This event is recognized by the vaping community as a Vape Scare. Most have commented that this was a calculated move by the Big Tobacco industry to regain their market share in the nicotine market. Switching ex smokers back in smoking traditional would once again boost their sales. An estimated 5 million smokers switch to electronic cigarettes per year. The more popular electronic cigarettes become the more money Big Tobacco companies lose.
What does this mean for the vape industry? We are looking at more regulations, Nation wide Flavor Bans, State Flavor Bans, Independent City/County Flavor bans are all being considered and or passed. Loss in customer traffic is reported across the nation, we have heard of some retailers losing as much as 40% of their existing business. We have heard of retailers shutting down their storefronts, filing bankruptcy, and some have even moved to a different State to continue to operate in a Non- banned State. Those retailers who continue to operate, do so with the same mindset of providing a different alternative for traditional cigarette smokers, after all Public Health England has claimed Electronic Cigarettes to be 95% safer than combustible tobacco. We urge the community to call the White House at (202) 456-1111 and explain to them how Flavored e-liquids have helped you. Mention your testimony and be polite. Let your voice be heard.

About 2 months ago, News stations began to air reports about a mysterious lung injury. Over the next couple of weeks there was an increase in reported cases. Without knowing the causes of this mysterious lung illness the media blew this into an epidemic, reporting that all these cases were link to "vaping". Now the official term of vaping as recognized by the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), is using an electronic cigarette, regardless of the substance being used.
Recent reports issued by both the FDA and CDC have found the compound THC in the majority of the cases. THC is a Schedule I Drug which in most US States it is still illegal for sale and use. Finding that THC was prominent in the cases, the authorities began to narrow their focus toward THC products. Doing so they discovered use of Vitamin E Acetate being used as a cutting agent/Thickener. Vitamin E Acetate is generally recognized as safe for consumption, but seems to cause issues when heated and inhaled. Since the discovery, CDC has reported to not purchase any product from the streets and instead from reputable vendors who follow State Laws and Government Regulations. The also warn anyone to not go back to smoking traditional cigarettes which is responsible for over 480,000 deaths a year. Finding a few Facebook groups online, one can read testimonies from other electronic cigarette users who have been consuming nicotine based liquids for nearly a decade which no reported issues. As always we do not encourage the use of nicotine based products and alternatives if you are not already a frequent nicotine user. September 1, 2019 was the first day we had to abide by the T21 Bill, which changed the age of tobacco use and like products from 18 years old to 21. We had no idea how this would impact our organization. While it is understandable that the State attempts to reduce the amount of underage use. We believe that the regulation starts at the retail level.
We continually reinforce our employees at Static Vapor to check the ID of anyone who appears to be under the age of 30, before any purchase. I must state we have refused several guests who have not met the age criteria. Other than the small adjustments for age verification and a small reduction in converting smokers to vapers, the impact we have noticed feels minor and tolerable. We are happy to continuously serve our new and old guests, fellow friends and new found family. By now you all should all be familiar with popular Smok T Priv, know for its crazy led patterns. Smok has recently released the newest version of this popular device.
Lets get started on key changes and improvements. Right off the bat you will notice the similar yet fairly different device design. The cut- aways appear in the same spots that the original T Priv featured. The energy saving leds have continued into this device. You will also notice that the devices was adapted to use 3 batteries instead of 2 18650 cells. This upgrade was necessary to increase the power nearly 80 extra watts. The ergonomics of the new T Priv are similar to the Wismec Releaux which was the first to release with a triangulated design. Although the T Priv retains the Fire bar and the top screen there have been some improvements. The top screen is noticeably bigger and easier to read. The fire bar is slimmed in width and feels as if it solves the problem to the older flat design, where side firing was inconsistent. This device also features the latest Prince tank from Smok, which we thought was a huge improvement from the Big baby beast included in the first T Priv. Power: 10 Comfort: 8.5 Battery Life: 10 Performance: 10 So we here at Static Vapor really thought this device was a nice upgrade from the previous version. The wider design even though comfortable resulted in a rating of 8.5. The triple battery definitely improved battery life and output.
